“Welp, it certainly wasn’t the chiva tour I experienced 20 years ago. Just a large bus with no windows and no AC. Yes, it’s described that way, but I remember it feeling like a party and it was festive and fun. This was just a tour guide bus that we hopped on and off and inhaled a lot of diesel fumes. Weather was terrible for us (on and off rain) and when we got to the old city, we ditched the tour early. Not worth it.”

The guide was going fast, about 15 of us got lost and lucky we were able to get a hold of someone in their office and they help all of us get back with the main group (we got pick we up in the Chiva). “The pick up point was very confusing,. I waited for almost an hour before they actually showed up. I had to get Wi-Fi since I’m American and re-contact them to make sure they were still coming to get me. It was unprofessional and the bus was overcrowded. I barely had any room to sit down and people constantly bumping into me. I did not feel comfortable, and the music was boring.”

“It’s a great option to get to know the island by road, specially if you don’t have many days. However, a few things feel like a tourist trap. I do not recommend going to the Cueva de Morgan and the Hoyo Soplador - definitely not worth it, and the two more expensive things in the tour. The Casa Museo is very interesting and I would totally recommend it. La West View is ok, but lacks good infrastructure. In total, be prepare to pay and pay Casa Museo - 10.000 pesos (totally worth it) Cueva de Morgan - 20.000 pesos (do not recommend) West View - 10.000 pesos (ok…) Hoyo soplador…”
