“This was an extremely memorable day for my mother and I. Our guide stayed with us the entire day and gave a clear run down on what to expect for day. From how much to tip the locals who were working the volcano ,even being a buffer to make sure we weren’t being overcharged, to what lunch and the pool day(dangerous beach conditions)would consist of. She was a gem and made a huge impact on how great the day went. This is such a great deal, make sure you book!”

“I really enjoyed this trip. - the bus was nice and had good a/c. Everybody was very friendly and the mud bath was a special experience! I took a morning tour and didn’t find it too busy. I decided to go all in and have photos, a mud massage and a lady help me clean off all the mud afterwards. - the guide was very helpful in letting us know how much to tip for each service. I was solo traveling in Colombia and met some lovely people to do some other tours and travel with. I would happily recommend this trip!”

“My daughter, mother and I went and had a great and relaxing time. Air conditioned van, nice tour guide and the volcano experience was nice. Be prepared to tip guys for a 5 minute massage in the volcano and the ladies in the river as well, whom will rinse you off. Those are optional, you don’t have to advantage of those services if you don’t want too but it was a nice experience”

“The only con for me was how long we had to wait to pick up people from other hotels. If you're stuck with people who don't respect time, you will be waiting for a bit longer than expected. It also takes like 40 minutes to get to the destination, so heads up. BUT other than that, it was a nice excursion. It felt nice, was pretty straightforward, and other than one guy (who worked at the volcano site) being a bit impatient with the fact that we all were enjoying ourselves, every single other person was great. Nicher was the best host/guide, so funny, and so kind. The food was…”

“The actual volcano and mud bath was fun and we had a great time experiencing the culture. The way they set up the line for each individual to get into the mud bath can use some work. However the transportation company and our communication with them was very poor. When we booked the tour we asked for an English speaking tour guide. They were over one hour late to pick us up and still had to pick up others so we didnt get to the Volcano until 3 hours after our scheduled time. After the volcano experience we were taken to the beach which was not included in our tour…”

Review of Cartagena’s Mud Volcano and Palenque tour, with a volcanic mud bath, Afro-Colombian culture, lunch, guides, and practical tips.

“This was an amazing trip from start to finish. Miguel is a wonderful guide who does it all. He picked us up from our hotel and took us to the mud volcano earlier than anyone else so we had the whole place to ourselves. He advised us on exactly what was to happen there including all the info you need for tipping the locals for various services they offer. The mud volcano is a once in a lifetime experience. You float in mud that’s 7,000ft deep. In the mud you receive a massage from one of the locals. Then they walk you down to the river where another local washes…”

“C'était une bonne journée, l'attraction du volcan est sympa, il faudrait juste préciser que nous sommes dans un petite surface avec beaucoup de monde. Ensuite le club en lui même est pas top, il nne parait pas être utilisé, on se demande s'il ne fonctionne qu'avec l'attraction, il n'y avait personne, les installations n'étaient pas en place sinon le temps sur chaque endroit était correct”
